Mission Statement

The mission of the Coalition for the Barbados Association of Central Florida (CBAOCF), otherwise known as Central Florida Bajans (CFL Bajans), is to encourage networking and to promote kinship among Barbadians (Bajans) living in Central Florida. Our association maintains avenues of communication between Barbadians in Central Florida and their homeland Barbados, and fosters educational, cultural, and business operations, to further the joint interests of Bajans in both regions in an open, friendly environment.

Give Kids the World

CFL Bajans help children battling life-threatening illnesses be children.

Give Kids The World Village is a 84 acre, non–profit “story-book” resort, located near Central Florida‘s most beloved attractions, where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost- free fantasy vacations.
The story of Give Kids The World began with a little girl with a wish and the desire of one man to make that wish come true. Amy had leukemia and one wish - to visit the theme parks in Orlando. To facilitate Amy's wish, the request of a complimentary stay was made to a respected hotelier. As he had done many times before, the hotelier gladly obliged and Amy's wish was that much closer to being realized. Sadly, the remainder of Amy's travel plans took too long to arrange and her wish was never granted; Amy had passed away. Time simply ran out.
The Coalition for the Barbados Association of Central Florida and the Barbados Association of Tampa Bay adopted 2 villas at Give Kids the World Village. Members of both associations share their time and talents to decorate, landscape and maintain these buildings that our special families call home while on their dream vacation.
